During this course you may have covered the basic concepts of the prominent two legal systems in the world. But here, the scope of your study is narrowed down by limiting the area of your research to the basic concepts of contract law. I hope there are sufficient materials you can find on the internet as well as from any library on Brazilian contract law. Take a pragmatic approach and identify the areas where there are major differences. It is more or less a comparison study of these two systems. The New Civil Code of Brazil is perhaps the starting point.
