On the one hand, my short-term goal is to rich my knowledge in the field of finance after completing the MSc course as a graduate student. During past XXX years of learning in finance, I have gained lots of interests and experience. As we all know, globalization narrows down the gap in the professional difference, which makes finance to be a subject reaching from corporations to nations. Studying in Imperial College will allow me a chance to get worldwide knowledge in finance.To be specific, I want to be a Chief Financial Officer in a huge multinational corporation in the future. To strength my professional skills, I wish to improve myself by passing the exam of the certified financial planner.With the skills strengthened, I can handle the professional problems more easily. 

 

 

In the perspective of mine, how to get the new insights will be a problemfor me to study Imperial College Business School. I have already studied the financial knowledge in the domestic. But the international finance and governance of Multinational Corporation are my weakness. The time spent in Imperial College Business School as an MSc finance graduate student must be one of the challengesin my life. 

 

 

But I believe I can face up to the problems and overcome the challenges on the road. First, foundation courses lay the foundation for me to understand the cross-border financial knowledge. These are the tools I can put to use immediately as I perform the next study. As a result, much time must be spent in this kind of courses due to its role as the start-line in the future professional study. Second, attending class of core courses is the second step in my study life. As is known, the core course is about the basic and the frontier in the field as well. For my part, international finance is my weakness. Therefore, catching up with the newest international theory hangs on the top of my study agenda. 

 

 

On the other hand, my long-term goal is about how to achieve my career as well as balance my study and life in the future. After absorbing the information from the programme of the MSc finance, I will gain more confidence in both the academic and practical knowledge. My career will be broadened by both the courses and projects provided by Imperial College, which qualifies me for more employment options for the future. As a matter of fact,Chief Financial Officer in a huge multinational corporation is my dream position. From the blue-print of my career, numerous steps are needed to achieve my career goal. My ambition to climb the ladder of a corporation is not only due to that I do find it desirable to maintain a comfortable lifestyle for my family and myself, but also because I want to be ready for any challenges in my life. In my spare time, much time is left to make friends from all over the world. Travelling abroad is another short-term goal in my plan. I believe that only in an interactive way can I achieve both my study goals and life goals successfully.

 

 

In my opinion, keeping pace with the professional frontier is one of the necessary abilities in the career as for a CFO.To broaden my professional horizon, I will take advantage of the study time on more reading to absorb knowledge and information. Communicating with my teachers and classmates is also needed, which is another way to get in touch with the academic frontier. Last but not least, I want to take a part in the projects as much as possible. In my opinion, practice is another end of the theory. Imperial College Business School provides the students with a lot of chances to develop the practical ability, including projects and electives, which not only brings challenges but also creates opportunities for me. 

 

 

To some extent, the whole life is just like a balance sheet. Equity is my leisure time while debt is my working time. The ultimate goal of my whole life is to reach the optimal capital structure. Neither laziness nor workaholic is not optimum leverage for the life balance. Similarly, life is not valued by the length of life, but the by the quality of the assets.
