This is to be a researchreport B you must draw heavily on resources outside of your personal experiences and framework of the courses taken in your educational background. As a future hospitality manager, it is important that you are familiar with the published resources available, other than those found intrade magazines. This research paper is a thorough investigation of the leader and leadership behaviors that you are able to prove by examples provided, of the leader selected.
The length and depth is only limited by your time, effort and ambition. There are many industry leaders, however not a lot of them have a wealth of research materials associated with their management style. You may therefore have to extensively search to see which of your choices will meet the research criteria of this exercise. Warning!! Not a lot of them will be able to provide you with reliable sources to describe your chosen leader’s temperament, behaviour and style.Please remember that this paper will constitute 20% of your final grade and must be taken seriously. Waiting until the night before it is due will probably have an adverse impact on your grade. The following guide is designed to assist you in writing your paper: Once your leader has been selected, plan on spending time familiarizing yourself with all the materials available dealing with them to identify their DOMINANT LEADERSHIP STYLE;

2. Select a minimum of 10 publications/articles as references in writing the report. You may notusetextbooks as your resource material.A textbook – is a book prepared for use in schools or colleges; A minimum of 5 of the 10 publications must be either refereed journal articles from research journals or books. If you are in doubt that you are using refereed research journals please ask. These resources will be included on the AReference@ page; a separate page to be included at the end of your written report;

You must include an AIntroduction@ (Page 1, which introduces your leader and briefly describes why you chose them); and, it should also include a ASummary@ which follows the requirements indicated on the Research Paper Rubric. The paper must be narrative; do not use lengthy quotations or numerous bullet points in the body of the paper unless these allows the reader to follow the theme or points you want to emphasize;
4. The body of the report must include a section that discusses your leaders= behaviors that could be adopted or applied to the hospitality industry in a logical, cogent manner. This section must be your work supported by citations from published sources;

The purpose of this paper is to have you investigate a leadership behavior for someone who has inspired you to be like them. Then again, it may be someone who had such bad leadership skills that you are bringing them to our attention as an example of who NOT to copy from. As discussed in the text for this course or during lectures or class discussions you wish to show how one could apply theirleadership efficacy as you see its parallel use in the hospitality industry. Therefore, your papershould logically progresses from a brief introduction of the leader and why they are thought to be important; to another brief biography of the leader to be a person who one should copy their leadership style from. A discussion section should follow which points out their leadership behaviors and then finally the application or discussion on how you plan to utilize those behaviors for toy own future success. Then there should be a conclusion and / or summary section to be finished with a referencesection, utilized in your paper. Any additional information pertinent to the topic being discussed should be placed in an appendix.
