Improper format will result in a grade deduction.
A *HARD COPY* of the paper must be turned in at the beginning of class on 3/19. Late assignments will not be accepted.
All quotations/reference to outside sources should be in standard MLA format. Remember, plagiarism will not be tolerated – it is your responsibility to make sure that both your rough draft and final draft adhere to the Queens College policy of academic integrity.

Essay Checklist:
• Does the introductory paragraph include a clear, well developed thesis statement that is debatable and narrow in focus?
• Does each paragraph discuss one point in defense of the thesis statement?
• Does each paragraph begin with a topic sentence that succinctly outlines the topic of the paragraph?
• Are claims made in the body paragraphs supported with relevant textual evidence?
• Is the textual evidence/quotations framed (introduced and explicated) adequately?
• Do the paragraphs transition http://www.ukassignment.org/dxazessay/ smoothly?
• Does the author situate his/her claims in relation to the claims of other scholars? Does he/she use at least two reputable outside sources to do this?
• Has the paper been proofread for spelling, grammar and style?
• Is the essay formatted properly? Are citations in MLA format?
• Does the essay answer one of the three essay prompts provided? Does it meet the required page length?
