You have explored a topic and written about related sources. Now you will be putting all
this knowledge together to create a persuasive research paper. Remember that a
persuasive paper is one in which the writer tries to convince the reader to believe
something or take action on something using facts and logic. These facts generally come from more sources than just the writer’s voice and include citations.

§ factual support for the position
§ objections to the position (counterargument) and refutation
§ call to action
Your completed research paper should be 1,000-1,200 words (or approximately 4-5 pages double spaced).
Steps:
1. Review the information you know about your topic and that you have gathered
from your sources to create a clear, concise statement of purpose (thesis)
2. Create an outline of how you will organize the ideas of your paper
3. Write your paper using your
own voice and words, but incorporating at least four
other voices into your paper as experts to support your voice (one of these sources
can and should be “Our Choice”)
4. When you use sources be sure to:
a. Use quotation marks and cite the source to use the author’s exact words
b. Paraphrase and cite the source to describe the author’s ideas
5. Include a reference list at the end of your paper in APA format

Write two paragraphs (no more) introducing your topic. Explain the question(s) that you are attempting to answer in your paper. If you are attempting to answer more than one question, they should all be closely related to one another. You can expand on the paragraph you wrote for your source paper if you like.
Concentrate most of your time and energy on producing as much text as you can. If you use quotations, do not use more than 3, and be sure to include
them in quotation marks with the proper citation. If you summarize ideas from your sources, be sure to do so in your own words and, again, cite them properly. Any sources that you cite should be included in a list of references in APA style on the last page of this assignment. “References” should appear at the top of the page, centered.
指导澳洲course workWhile you should try to write as clearly and accurately as possible, focus primarily on producing a minimum of 4 pages text in your own words. Quantity is more important
than quality at this stage.
You can include quotations and tables, if you like, but they will not count as part of the 4-page minimum of text that you should produce.
Topic Words & Phrases
When you have finished writing your text, go back and add a word or brief phrase (no more than ½ line) that describes the topic or subject of each paragraph, like the one for this paragraph. This will serve as a section heading.
Double space everywhere, even the headings, and do not add extra space between paragraphs or lines and do
not use bold face or large fonts. The font should be the same throughout the paper and should be 12 point.
Each paragraph should have a different topic. If two paragraphs seem to have the same topic, then combine them into one. Do not worry about the order of the paragraphs.
If a paragraph is a full page long, then you should find a way to divide it into two or more paragraphs,
Include a tentative title of your paper followed by a colon (:) and the words “Draft 1.”
Be sure to follow these instructions carefully
because doing so is part of the grade for this assignment.
