Design students: are to show case their love of arts and design. Each page and post can be wildly different topics, or, the whole can be dedicated to a style of art or designs [however, it needs to show depth]. Write one page about why you choose to go in to design and where you see your career options.
Engineering students: what is engineering? What field of engineering are you planning to go into, why and how? What do you see as your future in engineering, and where do you want to end up. What is important about the field of engineering you have chosen as a career?
Business students: why have you chosen to pursue and business degree and where do you see yourself working after university. Have a look at your chosen business career and investigate job opportunities in government or large organisations. Tell us how you are going to get there.
IT students: it is all about IT. What field of IT are you planning to go into, why and how? What do you see as your future in IT, and where do you want to end up. What is important about the field of IT you have chosen as a career? Posts, Pages, Comments In this assignment you are to create a blog with the following, as a minimum: Three (3) pages. Appearance, Widgets and General
Your choice of template [‘Appearance’ or ‘Theme’] is crucial. All pages will need to have a menu that allows users to move between pages. Choose your colours, fonts, layout and images carefully.
Widgets chosen need to be useful and preform some function that helps visitors and users using your Web site. Do not over crowd your sidebar/s with many widgets. Plagiarism
Any image, video, article or publication from an external source you will need to reference and acknowledge that source correctly (Harvard Referencing). Any facts or figures, or material from other sources need to be referenced correctly. Swinburne University used the Harvard Referencing system. Web sites that are political, racial or extremist in nature, or break the law are not allowed. Your teacher will advise you on what is not appropriate. Remember we will be assessing these Web sites, as well because they are live they must conform to the Laws of Australia and Swinburne University (example: Copyright). Assignment Policies and Procedures A consistent policy has been adopted regarding submission of assignments after the designated due date. This policy includes the following:
• Assignments are to be submitted on the day and at the time due as per the Assignment Outline.
• Assignments need to follow the Harvard standard/style of presentation, unless otherwise instructed in the Assignment Outline. A SwinburneUniversity referencing style brochure is available in the library.
• Students need to ensure they keep a hard copy of any assignments they submit. This copy needs to be DATED. Keeping an electronic copy on file is not adequate.
• Students should note that Saturday and Sunday are deemed to be working days in the case of late submission of assignments.
• Plagiarism will not be permitted. Students need to attach an assignment declaration form available from the admin office.
• Any assignment submitted after the designated due date and time will be penalised by deduction of 10% of the marks for each working daythat the assignment is late.
• Late assignments will only be accepted without penalty if a student has a valid medical reason or an extension has been applied for and granted, in writing. A medical certificate must accompany any valid medical reason for a late assignment or test being missed and must be provided within 72 hours of the assignment or test due date.
• Any assignment that is more than five working days late will not be accepted for marking.
• Extensions will only be granted in exceptional circumstances and any request for an extension should be made, in writing, at least a week before the assignment is due.
• If a teacher designates that an assignment is to be handed in to the office, students must ensure that the assignment is date stamped by the Administration staff. Resubmission of Assignments • Students may resubmit an assignment or assessment piece that has not received a pass at the discretion of the subject convener. Re-submitted work can only achieve a pass grade. |
