Practice Time Constrained Assessment (TCA) – Briefing

As part of the learning on this module, you will have the opportunity to complete a mock assessment, i.e., a practice test for the end-of module time-constrained assessment. This will give you the opportunity to check on your learning to date, and get some useful tips and feedback on how you may improve your performance in the ‘real’ time-constrained assessment at the end of the module.

You will be required to write an essay about the application of one or more of the theories covered so far in the module to a specific business issue. The topic of the essay will be made available to you on a Task Sheet. This Task Sheet will be posted on the WOLF topic in the folder titled ‘Practice TCA’ at the start of the mock test period (see below for date and times).

The time available to complete the essay is four hours, so the mock test is about half the time of the test you will take at the end (only one question in four hours rather than two questions in eight hours). You will note that the time period available for undertaking the activity is five hours, which is intended to provide some flexibility for students who have other commitments. If you choose to exceed the four hour limit, your finished piece of work will not provide a good guide to your true performance of the task.

The mock test will take place at the following time:

Friday 28th October, 10.00-15.00

At the end of the test period, you must email your work to your workshop tutor

We will give you individual as well as general group feedback on your performance within 14 days of the test. If you are late emailing your assignment to your tutor, you will only get the general feedback.
