Beijing is the capital of China, is rich in tourism resources; Shanghai is China's most economically developed city; and Hong Kong is China's major city linked the West, known as "shopping paradise" reputation. Spring and fall are the best seasons to travel in China. So I chose China as my destination. My trip plan is as follows: Beijing (3 days) → Shanghai (2 days) → Hong Kong (1 day) The trip time is from September 1 to September 7, 2011. First I will flight from Auckland to Beijing by the Air China CA5113. The airfare is RMB 7,000, according to today’s exchange rate (NZD – RMB: 5.3015), it converts into 1,320 NZD. I will stay one day in the aircraft, and stay two days in the economy hotel in Beijing, the accommodation will cost me RMB 600. In Beijing, I will clime the Great Wall, and visit the Forbidden City, these two are the famous attractions in China. Then I will go to Shanghai by Train on September 4. The ticket price is RMB 800, and in Shanghai I stay two nights which will cost RMB 600. Oriental Pearl TV Tower is a symbol of Shanghai. It is 468 meters high. Standing on the top you can overlook the panoramic view of Shanghai. In addition, I will I take the time to see a star concert – Jay Chou, he is one of my favorite singers. The entire cost is about RMB 1,000. After this trip in Shanghai, I will flight to Hong Kong for shopping on September 6. I choose the Hong Kong Airlines HX239, which will cost me RMB 1,500. Today’s currency rate by NZD to HKD is 6.4615. In Hong Kong, I will visit the Disney and buy some clothes and foods. The entire budget is about 3,000 HKD. On September 7, I will back to Auckland by taking Air New Zealand, airfare is about 6,500 HKD (1,006 NZD). PART B Costs for all traffic, accommodation and activities  By the daily exchange rate conversion, the total budget of the seven days of trip is 3762 NZD excluding the food costs. Assume the cost for food for the seven days trip is 1,238 NZD, so the total budget is 5,000 NZD. After the costs are paid, about 3,000 NZD is left from the budget. According to the exchange rate between RMB and NZD, HKD and NZD, the concerted budget is shown the above table. In this process, there involves two currency conversion formulas as follows:  If six people planed this trip, the traffic costs will remain stable for each person, the cost for accommodation will be changes, two people can stay one hotel, thus the cost will be cut in half. Assume these people spend the same money in the activities. Therefore, it will be the new budget for six people as follows:  The total budget for six people is 20,168NZD. The actual cost per person is 3,361 NZD excluding the food costs. Plus the food cost for the seven days trip is 1,238 NZD per person, the actual cost per person is 4,599 NZD. It can be seen that the group trip is more cost-effective, and can save more money. In this case, it is mainly due to the sharing of the accommodation costs.
