Commercial music, also known as pop music, is the name of a musical genre, and “popular” is a very important feature of it. Its characteristic is that pop music has been mainly produced in the city, created by professional musicians, and often spread through word of mouth. Since 1950, this term specifically refers to non-classical forms of songs, such as the music performed by Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elba and so on. The United States is the political, economic and cultural exchanging center of the world. It has played a dominant role in the birth and development of pop music. From blues and jazz to rock music, pop music has made great contributions, leading the pop musicians all over the world to create excellent musical works continuously to enrich people’s cultural life. Therefore, commercial music has a vital role in society for its important social functions.

In order to survive, black people had to choose to work at Europe and the United States or other places. The pop music at early time was to express their love and nostalgia for their hometown.
