Keeping the Middle

Nowadays, middle managers become more and more important for the company’s position in competition. Through this article, we know that if company wants to retain these middle managers and make them the strong force for company’s success, then the company has to have a clear plan for middle managers’ career path, and try to give them a great atmosphere to grow. Some leading companies are making mixed development strategy to make middle-level stuff stronger. At the end of this article, there lists a table comparing trends in Mid-level development which shows that nowadays mid-level development has been given enough attention compared to past.

Before, I always think that those top-level leaders like CEO are very crucial to company’s success, they determines the development of the whole company. While after reading this article, I change my mind. Those middle managers are also critical. In the middle of the article, I notice the interview to Tzeitel Joanna Fernandes, the words impress most is that “but more than anything we offer greater learning and development opportunities because we feel that is what will help them get to the next level within the organization.” In running a company, high salary is a great motivation, but for cultivating middle managers, I think a long-term development and strategy is more important.

A large part of this article talks about how to develop middle managers, so I think the most important thing I learn is this. If a company wants to achieve success, it has to give middle managers a clear career path, if not,maybe they will search for another job. In their work, mid-levels have to gain more ability to deal with challenge, since there are always opportunities behind challenges.
最重要的是,随着社会的发展,公司要想赶上时代,就必须着眼于中层管理者的发展。
Above all, with the development of society, if company wants to catch up with times, it has to focus on the development of middle managers.
