The Unicorn in The Garden is an allegorical novel with less than a thousand words, which has been brought to the screen and translated into multiple national versions plenty of times. The story beginning and ending in the typical form of a fable,tells that a man saw a unicorn in his garden and told his wife twice however was taunted by his wife who threatened to send him to the mental institution.As soon as her husband left, the wife called the police and psychiatrists authenticallyand said that her husband claimed to have seen the unicorn in the legend and asked them to take him away.When the police and psychiatrists sought the verification from the husband, the husband denied that this was not the reality, and then his wife was admitted to be mad to be sent to the mental institution and the husband led a happy life from then on.At the beginning of the story, the author used a “foil” to make readers realize that the husband is a timid, henpecked husband, because he is only "sit in a breakfast nook".On the contrary, the author showed that his wife is a impatient person and more like a hell cat through the detailed description of her eyes, expressions and actions.When the husband told his wife that he had seen a unicorn for the first time, his wife just "opened one program eye", "turned her back on him" and "coldly".For the second time, her words were ironic.
