留学生如何申请美国大学金融专业？a) What have you learned in your research on Northeastern that has motivated you to apply? I applied for Northeastern University for many reasons. First of all, NU is a well-known university with a more than one hundred years’ long history, which makes me believe that it has unique teaching ideas, a good academic atmosphere, as well as excellent teachers and students. Therefore，I think it will be a perfect place for me to live and study and to improve my various qualities. Secondly, I choose NU for my professional interest. I applied for the finance major. NU is located in New York which has well-developed financial industry. In New York, there is not only the most advanced and standardized financial business environment in the world, but also advanced financial knowledge and service. Every progress in the financial industry in New York will bring worldwide revolution. As it is full of innovation and changes here, I can broaden my horizons and learn to look at the financial industry with a global outlook. Thirdly and most importantly, I choose NU for its learning arrangements for students. As an old Chinese saying goes, “no practice, no gain in one's wit”. It means that acquiring knowledge from books and classroom teaching is only the first step in the process of knowledge acquisition, and we can only complete the learning process by putting theories into practice. I want to choose a university that emphasizes both knowledge and ability and has not only outstanding classroom teaching but also extra-curricular practice. The MSF program in NU can make my dream come true, as it supports students working during school time. On the one hand, I can get help from the teachers, and learn more profound professional knowledge; on the other hand, I can apply my knowledge to practice and deepen my understanding. More importantly, I can gain some work experience, which will be of great benefit to me in the sophisticated financial work in the future. b) What unique contributions will you bring to the Northeastern community as a student? Today, excellent students from all over the world make up NU, and at the same time, NU always welcomes students with an open mind. Students with various cultural backgrounds makes NU maintain a positive attitude after a hundred years of development. I hope that I can be one of its students and I will bring the Chinese culture that I am proud of. China is a country with a long history. There are many excellent characters and touching stories through the passing of time. China has its unique culture. Beijing opera is a concentration of the Chinese history and culture, just as the opera that is unique in the western world can let us understand and appreciate the Western culture. The performing arts of Beijing Opera have assimilated the five thousand years' traditional cultural essence in China, telling stories with the truth, goodness and beauty value orientation and ethics. Influenced by my grandfather from my childhood, I am a Beijing opera fan and an amateur performer. If I have the opportunity to study in Brandeis International Business School, I will bring the culture of Beijing opera here. What’s more, I will share with other students the history, literature, performing, music, singing and other aspects of Beijing opera, and how these aspects exemplify the glamour of Beijing opera. I will let other students appreciate the delicateness and exquisiteness of Beijing opera, which requires tactful and melodious singing, as well as binding vocality and affection together when performing. I will also appreciate the essence of western opera with great enthusiasm, which is also my interest. I believe in such an atmosphere, my classmates and I can have access to the culture diversity, and our cultural exchanges will fill NU with more laughter and vigor. c) How will you benefit personally and professionally from your experience at Northeastern? I believe if I have the opportunity to study in NU, I will greatly enrich my knowledge, ability and life experiences. Firstly, I should make progress in the study of finance. To become an outstanding financial professional, I should learn the most advanced financial knowledge and keep up with the most advanced financial culture. The history and present of NU as well as the excellent teaching team in NU can make my long-cherished dream come true. Secondly, as to the training of students’ ability, NU provides a positive learning environment for the students. NU encourages students to study on their own initiative and to apply knowledge from the class to extra-curricular practice. This will be beneficial to me, as I can improve my living and working capacity and realize my career planning, that is, to become a qualified financial analyst. Thirdly, the study experience in NU can enrich my life experience. On the one hand, to study abroad is risky and challenging, but a self-supporting life experience will be the most valuable treasure in my life; on the other hand, NU is an open university with global perspectives. It has many excellent ？students, from whom I can learn a lot in the interactions. What’s more, in a multi-cultural background, NU will not only cultivate my ability of communication and cooperation, but also my teamwork ability. In short, if I have the opportunity to be admitted to NU, I will be proud of it and I will try my best to let NU be proud of me in the future.
