This paper expounds the idea of dynamic Newfoundland people from several vernacular poetry, nationalism, and cultural identification during this period of 1920-1955, reflect the characteristics and features of the nation. It is timely to take the examination of the history of Newfoundland nationalism and its cultural roots, exploring this nationalism's relationship to the island's folk music. Evidence of Newfoundland nationalism was seldom exist in Greenleaf's song-harvest during 1929-1930, but it did exist.
