 RESEARCH METHODS ASSESSMENT

Each student is required to submit an individual assignment. The assignment will be a 3000 (max) word essay designed to test students’ ability to critically analyse the basic arguments, structure and methodology adopted in a specific area of research.

Assignment: Research Analysis

Select on from the three articles allocated by your Research Methods tutor to critically review suing the language of social research.

In reviewing the work, consider the questions below:

a) What is the problem/issue addressed?
b) What are the research questions (hypotheses) and objectives?
c) What methodological strategy was employed?
d) What research methods have been used?
e) What type of sampling was used?
f) What was the sample size?
g) What is the scale of measurement of the study variables?
h) What techniques have been used for analysis and interpretation of data?
i) What are the methodological weaknesses and strengths?
j) What are the questions remained unanswered and need further investigation?
