ASSIGNMENT 2作业
Format and Links Between the Marking Criteria and Content扣分标准和内容之间的格式和链接
Format格式
The layout is likely to be different than in HRP1, in that the assignment does not naturally accommodate a separate literature section. There is no prescribed format, but the following outline provides one suggestion:布局是可能比HRP1的不同在于,分配不自然容纳一个单独的文献部分。有没有规定的格式,但下面的轮廓提供了一个建议:
Introduction介绍
Very low marks are allocated to this area, hence the introduction should be very brief, just outlining the direction.非常低的商标被分配到该区域assignment 格式,因此引进应该是非常简短,只是概述了方向。
Main Discussion主要讨论
This part could be divided into sub-sections that address the competencies and then the exercises, or the competencies and exercise could be discussed together. In this discussion part you would need to address the following:这部分可以分成小节,解决的能力,然后练习的能力和锻炼可以一起讨论。在这个讨论中的一部分,你需要解决以下几个:
• justify the competencies in terms of the job/role and culture of the host country•工作/东道国的作用和文化方面的能力证明
• justify the exercise chosen to test the competencies, with reference to assessment centre methodology and culture•充分理由行使选择测试能力,参考评估中心方法和文化
(you do not have to design each exercise in detail, although in your justification of the exercises you will need to give an outline of what is being proposed)
• use literature to justify the competencies and cultural elements•用文献来证明能力和文化元素
• throughout, relate the discussion to the literature on assessment centre methodology•贯穿始终,涉及文学上评价中心方法的讨论
• explain why some approaches were chosen and others rejected •解释为什么一些方法选择和拒绝别人
Conclusion结论
Draw together the essay and summarise the key points – quite brief汇集论文和总结的关键点 - 相当简短

Marking Criteria评分标准
The assessed work for Human Resource Practice 2 will be marked in accordance with the following IDPM dimensions:
1. Research and use of resources (approx. 3.5/10 importance)
“This refers to the level of research effort and degree of scholarship, with a particular emphasis on obtaining evidence from authoritative sources. Efforts should be made to interrogate the sources used, particularly in relation to other sources, rather than simply reproducing what others have said.”
Primary Source主要来源
Predominately refers to the literature used in the assignment, to justify the points being made. Need to demonstrate synthesis and critical analysis using the literature to explain alternative viewpoints. Specifically, the literature used is likely to address the areas of competencies, the specific job chosen, organisational and national culture and the assessment centre methodology, including the exercises.
2. Analysis and argument (approx. 4.5/10 importance)
“The work should be focused on answering the specific question set and should be analytical in its approach (not just describing the topic under consideration). The work should draw on relevant theory, concepts and models as discussed in the literature. It should demonstrate a clear understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of this material and of its value in enhancing understanding of the issues under consideration. A coherent and purposeful line of argument should be followed throughout, and should be supported by evidence in the form of relevant examples, research findings and other material to provide convincing support for what is being argued.”
Primary Source
Primarily refers to the analysis undertaken in the assignment – need to apply concepts and critically evaluate their fit with the situation. Literature is used to ‘make sense’ of the situation and support the issues being presented. Specifically, the analysis will relate to why the competencies have been selected, along with the justification of the assessment centre exercises, both in relation to the competencies and the culture. The key word is ‘justification’ – that is, ideas are supported by the literature and the reasons for choices are explained.
3. Linking theory and practice (approx. 1/10 importance)
“Where applicable, the work should demonstrate the ability to make relevant connections between theory and practice (e.g. with regards the political, strategic, policy or management implications of your response).”
Primary Source
The whole assignment contains elements of linking theory and practice. However, this area will predominately refer to the conclusions which have been drawn from the analysis – need to draw together the key points in a rational and objective way.
4. Structure, Style, and Presentation (approx. 1/10 importance)
“The work should read in a clear and logical manner from start to finish. It should be proof-read and corrected to avoid typographical and grammatical errors. The introduction should set out the structure and content of the essay and the direction and conclusion of the argument to be pursued. All sources used should be properly referenced using the Harvard system. This means citing authors, dates of publication and (where appropriate) page numbers in the text and providing full references at the end of the work. Footnotes should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. All work must be paginated and double-spaced in minimum 12 font. The word count includes tables, figures and footnotes but not the bibliography or the title page.”
Primary Source
Predominately refers to writing style, grammar and spelling, along with accurate and consistent referencing. The general layout and presentation, along with being within the word-count of 3,000 words, are included in this area, as is the presentation of a full Harvard-style bibliography. Finally, the introduction, which needs to provide a brief overview of the purpose of the assignment, is included.
