How does your item likely relate to the human body and the space it will occupy i.e. where will the product go and how will it function relative to you. (Often presented in the form of diagrams)您的产品可能与人体及其所占空间有何关系,即产品将流向何处以及相对于您的功能如何。(通常以图表的形式呈现)
Folio: Include discussion on design features that make the product suitable for its intended use as well as diagrams of where the product is likely to go.对开本:包括讨论使产品适合其预期用途的设计特点,以及产品可能走向的图表。
This table is designed to be placed next to the bed in the bedroom, to convenience the people’s daily life in their bedroom, such as people can put the clock, water glass or coffee cup on the table or do some leisure activities around it. For the width of the table, since it should hold at least one clock and two glasses or cups, the ideal width of the table is between 500 and 700mm. And For the height of the coffee table, it should be around 600mm, thus people can get the things from the table conveniently and comfortably when they are sitting in the couch. This table will be put about 300mm from the couch. It is the ideal distance for one people to go pass between the table and the couch and it will be very convenient for people to get the things from the table without standing up.

Different from the fossil and metal resources, the timber resources can continuously grow with the solar energy if the conditions are right. Thus, the resources can not only increase their amount, but also can improve the environment as they are growing. However, the problem now is that the scale and the intensity of the timber consumption are far more than the speed of the reproduction of the timber itself. Thus, there is a risk of excessive consumption and depletion of the timber resources. The excessive consumption of the timber may lead to the fast reduction of the forest and may finally destroy the environment.
Timber is a kind of resources which is good to the environment. The whole life cycle process of the timber resources, from exploitation, processing, use, disintegration and scrap, the energy consumption is relatively less. Compared with steel, aluminum, concrete, paper and other materials, the energy consumption and the amount of the carbon emissions during the production making are relatively small. At the same time, among all kinds of the waste materials during the timber production, most of them can be reused. Timber resources from harvesting, transporting to processing will produce a lot of solid waste. Those solid waste can be recycled, or be biodegradable, finally can be burned.
However, the process of making timber productions is also having some pollution. For example, during the process of making timber production, it may have pollution to the water and the air. Water pollution in timber industry is mainly water pollution of wood-based panel. The general timber industrial wastewater contains timber soluble materials, adhesive, phenol, formaldehyde and preservatives, oil and so on. Since the process of making wood-based panel uses a large number of adipic aldehyde, phenolic aldehyde, melamine resin as binder and veneer impregnating materials. A lot of free formaldehyde will be out during the hot pressing process, stacking process and using process when making wood-based panel, then make pollution to the indoor and atmospheric environment. In wood-based panel decoration and furniture industry paint organic solvent pollution are common.
Construction Methods: (150 Words + Images)
Find information about the methods you will use to construct your product, for example joints, processes such as welding or laser cutting etc.
Folio: Include information about any joints/methods you use as well as others if word limit allows
Although my project will be built mostly on timber, it should not contain a complicated jointing method. Rather than using nails and pining two pieces in, I will be experiencing on using other methods as the dovetail joints, box joints, and the mortise and tenon. The upper hand of using the jointing methods is the ease of taking two pieces apart and the clean surface it leaves instead of the end of a nail left behind. The metal I have chosen as my material is chrome. I will not be welding it to another piece of metal because this piece will connecting the two main piece of timber together as a support due to the timber’s excessive weight. Lastly, the glass will be glued onto the timber with liquid nails. The glass will be cut so it is fitted perfectly into the gap between the timbers and make it easier to paste the glue. Finally, I will use the sand paper to rub down the table, and use a damp cloth to wipe and clean the timber shavings. And use a rough cloth with beeswax inside to rub the table again. Then put the table under the sun about three days, and I will get a splendid table.
